Day 3

Day 3 began with another lovely day. Simon said the sun god was smiling down on us... we left the camp site at about half 10. Had breakfast in the merry monk down the road from the camp site where we hooked up with Stephanie and paul from no rules who were our tour guides for the day. We back tracked about 30km to visit the stack where st Patrick banished all the snakes from Ireland, another very beautiful place. We then travelled along up the coast through Iniscrone,Easky,Dromore west,Beltra, and Strandhill where we were treated to coffee and mars bars by the owner of Kelly's pub, many thanks to him. We continued onto Sligo where Stephanie and Paul parted company with us, huge thanks to them for the company and the craic, Dexter is missing stephanie something terrible since. We travelled onto Donegal town but not before we stopped in KFC in Bundoran which is a must. When we arrived in Donegal we hung around the diamond in the centre of town for a while where we met the legendary Colm from the Islanders for a chat, it was'nt long before Justin from the Illeagles passed and stopped as well. After receiving some direction and sight seeing advice from Colm we headed out towards Carrick passing through Killybegs on the way. About 8km before we arrived at our destination we stopped at a viewing point to take some pics, there was a field that was just cut that day and there was a sharp decline on it towards the sea. Someone said that it would be cool to roll down the hill and Shane being the adventurous( and slightly deranged) one, happily obliged he got about half way down when he went blind with dizziness so a halt was called, funny though. We arrived at a camp site in Carrick at about half 7. Put up the houses and headed to the Central tavern in Carrick where we were serenaded by the locals and drank the nicest Guinness we've had in a long time. Then back to the campsite for bed.
