Day 5 began just as bad as day 4., Shane was the first up and decided to pay his bill and get a shower token because to be honest he had a day and a half of biker sweat on him and he needed it. When he got to the office there was no one around so he had a nose at the notice board while he was waiting. The price list was there and it said it was 15euro for a small tent and 10euro for motorcyclists who had a tent. When the lady that worked in reception finally arrived Shane had his 12euro (10 for the accom. And 2 for the shower) at the ready only to discover that it was 17euro, “they were overcharging us” he said to himself and mentioned this to the lady but had no joy, neither did the rest of the lads when it came time for them to pay. RIP OFF IRELAND IN FULL EFFECT! So if any of ye are staying in carrigart don’t stay at Casey’s caravans cause they want your money more than your custom. We no sooner had the bikes packed up and the sky’s opened up, so it was another wet trek on the cards for us. Passing through Milford, Kerrykeel, Tamny, Portsalon, Dooaghbeg, Rathmullen then into Letterkenny where we had a quick break at Aldi, where Mark got a camera at a good price and has been happily snapping away ever since. Then it was onto Manorcunningham, Bridgend, Fahan, Buncrana, Ballyliffen, Malin and then straight to the most northerly point on our lovely island Malin Head. A windy but incredible spot, but that didn’t stop us taking a multitude of pic’s. We couldn’t find a campsite on Malin so we had to settle for a warm, dry Hostel about 3km from the edge.(poor us ha ha), We went for dinner in the most northern pub in Ireland, The Seaview Tavern where we had a lovely meal. We had just finished eating when who walked in but John Fox (who is a supervisor where Shane and Simon work in Galway). Of all the pubs in all the world….
Shane is leaving us tomorrow so we(he) decided to have a few extra pints tonight. The night is not over so we can’t tell ya how it ends. Dexter is hammered so we might have to go soon cause he is getting rowdy….
